You know those times you're searching for a unique gift, or just feel like browsing some interesting shops in Taipei? Over the years we've discovered quite a few cool spots for finding unique gifts and trinkets, and have probably spent way too much time looking around these shops and discovering hidden treasures. We wanted to share a few with you that we can highly recommend, from cute select shops and book stores, to stationery shops and general stores. So next time you're stuck with getting a last minute present, or you're in the mood for some window-shopping, you'll have a good selection of places to visit!
We discovered Un Petit Peu (located in Songshan District) this past year, and absolutely LOVED browsing this cute little select shop. The friendly owner has picked a lovely selection of items for the shop (including candles, decorative pieces and accessories) and the gorgeous displays had us swooning over each and every product! Such a great spot to pick up some unique home ware items that would also make great gifts! See our complete post with plenty more photos here.
This general store (located in Zhongzheng District close to Taipower Building MRT station) will satisfy all of your treasure-hunting desires! Filled to the brim with stationery, home ware items, decorative pieces, accessories and LOTS more, you will be thoroughly pleased with your decision to stop by for a browse. They even serve coffee, so grab a pal and make an afternoon of it! See our full post and more pics here.
Flow Apartment (located in Xinyi District) is perfect for those of you looking for beautiful candles, clean skincare, hair care and cool home ware pieces. See which hard-to-find brands they carry, and definitely stop by when you're in the neighborhood! Here we wrote all about our visit!
Everyday Ware & Co. is a popular select shop in Taipei, and just a hop, skip and a jump from Zhongshan MRT station. A sanctuary from the bustling and busy alleys of the Zhongshan shopping area on the second floor of a building, you'll find this popular select shop carrying a big variety of goods such as candles, decorative home ware items, camping gear, glassware, accessories, perfume and kitchenware. This is a great place to buy gifts! See more photos in our blog post here.
Calling all fellow stationery addicts; this place is absolute HEAVEN if you're a stationery-lover like me! This shop (and cafe!) is located in Zhongzheng District close to Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT station, and is packed with a curated collection of books, notebooks, stamps, pens, pencils, cards and even some kitchenware. There's also a cozy cafe in the back, so make yourself comfortable! See more pics from our visit, here.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this general store selling all kinds of interesting home ware, furniture and decorative items! Located in Datong District, not too far from the famous Dihua Street, and taking up two floors with its awesome collection of goodies, you are sure to find plenty of trinkets and treasures! They add to their collection quite often, and we haven't taken photos there in a while, so make sure you stop by to see their latest additions! Here's our post from our visit back in 2018.
If you have green fingers, or your'e just looking to add to your succulent collection, SUCCULAND (in Daan District) is the place to go! They have the biggest collection of cacti I've seen in Taipei, and you can also purchase hand-made plant pots and other gifts. Go for the plants, and stay for a coffee at their cafe! Here are more photos and details from our visit.
If books, magazines and stationery is your thing, VVG Something in Taipei's Daan District is a must-visit! Take your time browsing their great selection of magazines, journals and books. It's easy to lose track of time in there, as you'll be taken on a journey around the world through all of their imported magazines. Check out our complete post from our visit back in 2017, here.
We hope this list will help you, and please let us know of similar shops that you think we would enjoy visiting in Taipei!
