The Best Holiday Gift EVER | Meet Our Baby Girl

After 42 weeks of pregnancy, our baby girl finally made her debut on December 13th, 2020 at 7:47pm. Even though my labor and birth experience didn't go the way I had envisioned (it was quite a traumatic and excruciatingly painful 26-hour "back labor" ordeal that ended up in a c-section), we are just so incredibly grateful to have this angelic and absolutely perfect little girl in our arms.

We named our daughter Rumi (after one of my favorite poets, and also a Japanese name meaning "beauty"), and gave her my beloved maternal grandmother's name, Noreen, as her middle name (it's also my middle name). As you can imagine, we are absolutely smitten with her!

As I recover from surgery, and getting the hang of this new motherhood thing, and Tieneke's in South Africa with her family, we will be taking a small break from posting here on the blog for a few weeks. You can still follow us on our Instagram account, @astylealike, for pics and updates in the meantime. Don't worry, we'll be back in the new year!
