Liesl and I recently hopped back into the foodie scene in Taipei, and visited this new and much-talked-about burger joint in town, located in Xinyi District (not too far from Taipei 101). Butcher by LanPengYou is the newest hot spot to be seen at, and to make sure you score a table here, reservations need to be made well in advance. The restaurant offers bar seats where you can enjoy your food and drinks, and also a few smaller tables where groups can enjoy a meal together. There's quite an upbeat atmosphere in the restaurant (that definitely caters to a younger crowd) and the music is pumpin', if that's your vibe.
They serve DIY hamburgers and you can opt for either double beef, chicken or pork, and customize it with your preferred toppings. Liesl and I both had a good ol' cheeseburger, that comes with either a medium or a large fries. The burgers were delicious, but we were a little disappointed that we couldn't choose how we wanted our meat cooked, as they only serve it medium to well-done, with no other options.
If you're in Xinyi District near Keelung Road and craving a classic hamburger and some beer, pop into Butcher by LanPengYou and enjoy a quick and upbeat meal with your friends. The vibe is cool and the space is perfectly set up for food photography, too!
