Okay, I know what you're thinking; we’re insane for even thinking about fall (especially if you live in Taipei like us!). It’s still 30-something degrees Celsius outside, and the humidity is OUT OF CONTROL, making the thought of any type of wool sweater touching my skin unimaginable. But, you’re never too early to check out the latest fashion crazes around the world, and you don’t want to be missing out on all the trendy steals at Zara (who we all know too well will sell out immediately upon hitting the shelves. True story!).
Just from browsing through Pinterest, Instagram and some of my favorite online shops like Shopbop and Mytheresa, it’s obvious that the trends this year are bolder (and braver!) than ever before. The prints and colors this (or should I say ‘next’) season are pushing minimalism right out the door and welcoming the approach that MORE is more.
Are you ready for the maximalism styles that are about to take over the streets, and your Instafeed? Scroll down and have a look of some of the biggest fall trends to look out for this year, and also the affordable options which you can snatch up right now, right here.
1
Bold Plaids

The biggest trend of last year has just returned, and it's bigger (and more colorful!) than ever before. Plaid is back, and this year it can be seen in the form of blazers, shirts, dresses, scarves, and the list goes on... This red blazer from Zara is exactly what (2018) plaid dreams are made of.

I love a new pair of jeans for just about any season, and when I saw this latest trend I was over the moon. (Any excuse to buy a new pair of jeans, right?) Styles in this washed color has been released by some of the most popular denim brands out there, from Re/Done to Acne Studios, and this more affordable option by Everlane. It’s the perfect match with your new plaid blazer, and just in time for cooler fall weather.

Scarf Print
Have you been to Zara lately? If not, be prepared 'cause the scarf print pattern is about all you'll see! From scarf printed silk dresses and shirts, to skirts and shorts. This unexpected trend has taken over the shelves (and before you know it your wardrobe as well!). If you're not quite ready to be covering your body in this daring print, opt for a cute twill scarf to incorporate this trend into your daily fall wardrobe. Wear it in your hair, around your neck or on your bag, and you'll be a trendsetter without even trying.

4
Logomania
This major trend has been building up over the last year, with everyone and their mom sporting a Gucci logo tee, leading up to the surprising comeback of the popular Dior Saddle bag. The minimalist in me would say no, but this logo-covered bag has started to grow on me, and I just can't get it out of my head. It's a splurge, but luckily there are a few slightly cheaper vintage pieces available on sites like Vestiaire, the RealReal and eBay (You know, if you just HAVE to have it.)
5
Wild West
Are you ready to saddle up for this wild trend form the West? Yup, the cowboy boot trend is back, y'all! Don't worry, you don't have to be going all double denim for this one, 'cause we've found the perfect pair of boots that'll keep you on trend, but also be a classic staple that you can wear for years to come. This iconic suede pair by Isabel Marant ticks off all the boxes.

Things are about to get wild in here, 'cause you're favorite print is back for fall! From zebra to leopard, any and every animal print will be rocking the streets this year. This silk leopard-print skirt by Realisation Par has been taking over the gram, and has been seen on countless fashionistas all over social media. Paired with a cashmere sweater and a pair of white kicks, you'll be good to go.

Brown Hues

Brown for fall (groundbreaking, I know!). But you must admit, it's one of the coziest colors to be snuggling up in cooler weather, and it literally screams fall. Add this stylish brown turtleneck to your wardrobe and pair it with your new plaid blazer. (Add your new twilly for a pop of color to complete your fall look!)
