10 Must-Have Winter Wardrobe Essentials

With winter weather that's FINALLY arrived here in Taiwan, we're as excited as ever to start putting together our winter OOTDs and getting cozy in everything from cashmere crew necks to mohair cardigans and more. Even though we love to add a few new and exciting pieces to our wardrobes yearly, there are some classic winter staples we absolutely can not live without here in Taiwan's mild winters. Below we're sharing with you our 10 Must-Have Winter Wardrobe Essentials that Liesl and I both love and HIGHLY recommend, and the pieces we think you should be adding to your wardrobe this winter. A classic checked blazer is a wardrobe staple you absolutely MUST have, and it's an easy to wear item that can be worn with jeans and a tee, or dressed up with black denims or even an LBD.

I can't imagine my closet without my beloved cashmere crew-neck sweaters; a basic yet classic piece that can be worn just about every day; either with jeans, the classic work pant or even over a dress or paired with a skirt. We love the cashmere sweaters from UNIQLO; their prices are affordable, the quality is great, and they come in a variety of winter colors.

One of our most-worn items in our closets are our beloved wool scarves from popular Swedish brand, Acne Studios. If you've been following our blog, I'm sure you've noticed us sporting these timeless scarves over and over again, and to be honest, it's one of our best buys to date. Not only are they super warm and literally match ANY outfit, they're a ginormous pile of coziness, made from 100% virgin wool.

I finally added this dreamy mohair cardigan to my wardrobe after having it on my wishlist for YEARS, and although it's a little pricey, I can honestly say it's worth every cent. Even on the coldest of days it keeps out every bit of cold air and can easily be worn over a t-shirt, matched with denims or a classic black pant. Liesl is also a fan of this cozy cardigan and has added two of them to her wardrobe already.

Now what would an outfit be without a classic pair of high-waisted denim? Another must-have and also one of our most-worn items are the popular and timeless, Levis 501 jeans. It's been a staple in both our summer AND winter wardrobes, and it's one of the comfiest and flattering pairs of jeans we own.

A leather jacket is one of the most versatile pieces of clothing that every girl (and guy!) should have in their closet, and it will add a touch of cool to just about any outfit. I recently added this All Saints jacket to my wardrobe, and because of its simple, classic style, it's a timeless staple that I'll be able to wear year after year.

Between the two of us we have quite the collection of white sneakers, and from all the shoes we own they're definitely the most versatile. We've been loving the the eco-concious sneakers founded in Paris, VEJA, and have been sporting them all year long. The subtle design makes them easy to wear and matches well with just about any outfit, and they're some of the comfiest sneakers we own. It doesn't get more classic (and cozy!) than a turtleneck sweater, and Liesl and I both LOVE the cashmere ones from UNIQLO. They're good quality and affordable, and for a relaxed fit we both prefer a size large, and neutral colors such as black, navy, grey and beige.

A good pair of black leather ankle boots is an essential and something that will never go out of a style.
