Costumice Cafe | Taipei | A Style Alike

Living in Taipei is wonderful. The cafe scene is out of this world, it’s safe, people are friendly AND the shopping is AAAH-mazing. What’s not to love? There are few things we love more than enjoying a meal and a glass of Sauvignon (or three!) outdoors, and in Taipei places offering outdoor seating are rare.. And by rare, I mean we can literally count them on one hand!

So, ever since one of our favorite outdoor hangout spots in Taipei, Commune A7, closed down (le sigh!), Liesl and I (and The Husbands) have been on a hunt to find the next best thing. Hey, we’re not doing too bad! We’ve discovered two cafes in the past two weeks (Drunk Cafe and Jie Genge 桔梗三明治) that both offer outdoor seating! And guess what? We've just added another one to our growing list!

Costumice Cafe is located in the buzzing Zhongxiao Fuxing area, in an alley away from the shops and crowds, but still close enough to head over for a shopping spree after indulging in delicious food and wine (Zara is literally a 3 minute walk away!) It’s in a beautiful and quiet alley, surrounded by other cafes and shaded by trees. It offers outdoor seating, thus giving you the chance to wine and dine al fresco style. The indoor area is lovely as well, filled with vintage wooden furniture, offering an equally relaxed ambiance, albeit darker without much natural light.

From mouthwatering desserts to Italian style dishes, lattes and prosecco, there’s a little somethin' to satisfy all your friends' tastebuds, making it the perfect spot to hang out on a weekend afternoon. Below you can have a look at their menu and our food (the Honey Toast, Homemade Pizza, Antipasto Platter and the Cheese Platter). If you're feeling hangry, keep in mind that these platters are tiny and you should probably go with the pizza (just sayin'..)

Costumice Cafe is the perfect spot to hang out at on a sunny weekend afternoon, and is one of our favorite cafes. Basking in the sun with a glass of Prosecco in hand (who doesn't love doing that?!) And with spring that is finally in the air, I'd say it's as good a time as any, so make a reservation now. Don't be surprised if you see us there!
