Fika Fika Cafe l Taipei Cafe

A couple of months ago, we popped into Fika Fika Cafe (one of Taipei’s most well-known coffee shops and Nordic Roasting Champions) for an early breakfast outside on their lovely patio. It was a rare blue-sky and sunny day in Taipei and sitting outside having a latte was almost reminiscent of an early morning breakfast back home in Cape Town. Fika Fika is located in Zhongshan District, close to Songjiang Nanjing MRT Station, in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by tall apartment buildings keeping the noise from busy streets and highways away.
With its minimalist, clean and bright interiors it’s similar to that of coffee shops in Sweden (hence the name Fika Fika), and the lit up space creates a relaxing and serene ambiance for breakfast goers and cafe dwellers. Different seating arrangements throughout the coffee shop is available, and you can opt to hang out on the comfy sofas, sit at some taller tables for a quick caffeine fix, or get some work done at the working spaces at the back of the cafe. We highly recommend grabbing a table outside if the weather allows.
Being quite famous for their mouthwatering lattes, we did not need any convincing and went ahead and ordered our usual along with some delicious breakfast goodies and also a well-deserved sweet treat (it’s weekend, after all!). I opted for a favorite of mine, a Brown Sugar Latte, and Liesl had a regular Latte along with a Provolone Cheese and Ham Croissant. I got the Basil Tomato Mozzarella Panini which was DELICIOUS (I’m drooling as we speak), and for dessert we had the Vanilla Ice Cream Waffle (one of the best waffles we've had in Taipei!).

Whether you want to go read a book, get some work done, catch up with a friend or just grab a coffee to go, we highly recommend Fika Fika Cafe and can promise that it won’t disappoint. It's one of our favorite breakfast experiences to date and we can't wait to go back!
