If you’ve ever traveled to Europe, you’d know that it’s a pretty sweet spot to enjoy desserts, and their delectable treats are as diverse and rich as their different cultures. From tarts to macaroons, the options (and calories!) are endless. Liesl and I were both born with a sweet tooth and are always on the hunt for the best desserts in Taipei. So, you can imagine the excitement when we stumbled upon this European-style cafe recently, serving the most sumptuous, melt-in-your-mouth German cakes and tarts.
Flügel Studio (also known as Die Flügel Cafe) is located near Taipower Building MRT and is known for their unique, German-inspired dessert creations and refreshments. It has become quite the popular cafe and people line up over the weekends to grab a table here, so if you're planning on going remember to make a reservation in advance. The cafe’s interior is reminiscent of a living room, filled with antique and wooden tables and chairs; creating a relaxing ambiance to sit back and enjoy a cuppa’ tea and some freshly-baked cake.
The cafe offers a set menu for beverages only, and daily dessert options that can be seen on their Instagram page (Do yourself a favor and go have a look at their feed… DROOL!) Liesl and I had the Kiwi and Passion Fruit Pavlova (a fruity meringue creation) and the Apple Cake with Brandy Toffee Sauce (BEST apple cake I've had in Taipei!) We also got a latte and their daily special, a fresh and fruity lychee and mango sparkling drink.
If you’re craving something sweet and fancy, head over to Flügel Studio and indulge in one (or three!) of their freshly baked and beautiful cakes. They're only open from Friday to Monday between 1PM and 7PM, so remember to reserve a table ahead of time to score a seat (and treat!) at this German gem in Taipei.
