If you live in Taipei (and you’re foodies like us!) I’m sure you’ve noticed the latest culinary trend in the city that is ITALIAN food! We seem to stumble upon a new Italian restaurant every other weekend, and I’m definitely NOT complaining. The latest addition to this booming trend, is FO.CO.SO, an Italian bar/restaurant located in Daan District, right next to the Villa Herbs, and a short stroll away from its sister-restaurant, Divino Taipei.

FO.CO.SO stands for FOod, COcktails and SOcial (Uhm...only my three MOST favorite things in the whole wide world!) and that is exactly what this restaurant delivers. Italians sure know how to celebrate and enjoy all aspects of life, and at FO.CO.SO you can expect nothing less. The owners, Enrico and Matteo, interacts with their guests throughout the night and makes sure everyone is having a fantastic time.

The restaurant is quite small and only has one long shared table inside, encouraging people to sit together and socialize (i.e. party the night away!), while indulging in authentic Italian antipasti and apperitives. There’s also a smaller table by the entrance and chairs at the bar where you can sit back and enjoy the cozy, yet fun, atmosphere of this little Italian gem in Daan.

The menu offers a range of familiar and hearty Italian dishes, from juicy and flavorful meatballs and sausages, to tasty and cheesy lasagnas and pastas. They also have a range of delicious and summery cocktails, including the Italian cocktails Aperol Spritz (the cocktail of the season!) and Limencello, which are both on special during happy hour from Fridays to Saturdays between 6PM and 7PM. They also have a long list of wines, prosecco and champagne, if you’re feeling festive and in the mood to celebrate.
FO.CO.SO MENU

My love affair with Aperol Spritz has officially started, and we sipped the night away on this bright and bubbly summery cocktail. Along with the spritzers, we had the Italian Fries (homemade polenta cut into strips and fried), the Salciccia (Italian sausage served with brussel sprouts) and the Divino Meatballs to share. Throughout the night we also enjoyed some other hearty dishes such as the Costata Di Maiale (fried pork chop served with seasonal veggies) and the Pappardelle Al Ragu Bianco (handmade pasta in a white sauce with pork). All the food the restaurant serve is handmade in the kitchen (including the pasta!) and only the finest ingredients are used. Believe us when we say, food has never tasted this good. It was DIVINE.

If you’ve been on the lookout for a new spot to enjoy sun-downers and/or authentic Italian food, you should look no further than FO.CO.SO. It’s the first Italian bar to open its doors in Taipei, and owners Enrico and Matteo will make sure you have a ball of a time. Seating is limited so make sure you book in advance and secure a spot for a true Italian experience in Taipei that you will never forget.
