Milk Bar by BKA is a new cafe that is located in the vibrant Songshan District, just a short walk away from Nanjing Fuxing MRT Station. Hidden away in an alley, it’s not hard to miss with its all-white exterior and pops of “Greek” blue, and it’s easy to see why Instagrammers have been flocking to this new It-cafe in Taipei. We couldn’t resist it either and dropped in over the weekend to see what the hype is about, and also to get our lips on those crispy ice-cream waffles (More about that later on!).
The cafe offers both indoor and outdoor seating, but we opted to sit outside (as always!) on the terrace overlooking the charming little courtyard, surrounded by greenery and minimalist design elements. Orders have to be taken inside and paid at the bar counter where the food and drinks are prepared, and a few seats are also available here if you wish to sit inside. They also offer a large room for workshops, exhibitions or lectures which can be rented and booked in advance.
Their menu consists mainly of drinks, including coffees, teas, sparkling water, and their signature flavor milk (a must try!), and they also serve light meals such as croissants and waffles. We kick-started our day with some flavored lattes, served in adorable cups with Milk Bar’s signature logo on, and both ordered one of their scrumptious waffles; Liesl had the Chocolate Banana with Whipped Cream Waffle and I the classic, Milk Ice Cream with Honey. These were honestly the BEST waffles I’ve had in Taipei! Scroll down to have a look, and see the menu below.
