After seeing soooo many great reviews, and getting tons of recommendations, I just couldn’t resist any longer and dragged The Husband with me recently to try out this newly opened Indian restaurant in Taipei's Daan District. (It’s basically on our doorstep!) Moshka Indian Restaurant is probably already known to many, especially to those living in Tianmu, as they’ve had a location there for a few years now, and only recently added this second location in Daan. After having a chat with the Indian owner (who is also the chef), we got some more insight into the restaurant’s history and the food, and also learned that ALL the ingredients used to cook their flavorful dishes are imported from India, explaining the explosion of flavors their food offers.
Moksha Indian Restaurant is a family-owned restaurant located near Renai Circle in Daan District, and is just down the road from popular cocktail bar Fourplay, thus the perfect spot to enjoy a hearty meal before heading out for a night on the town. The decoration is in true (glamorous) Indian style, with beautiful decorative trinkets and furniture throughout the shop, making your dining experience all the more authentic. Their extensive menu offers a large variety of Indian appetizers, veggie dishes, breads, curries, rice and biryanis, BBQ and many more (The options are endless!). They also have a long list of vegetarian and vegan dishes, one of which is a Litchi Curry that sounds TO DIE FOR. Have a look at their menu below, and click the images to enlarge.

The Husband and I wanted to try their Butter Chicken (always a crowd-pleaser) and after having a smell of the flavorsome lamb dish on the table next to ours, we couldn’t resist and also got the Laal Maas (aka the BEST Lamb Curry we’ve ever had!); Indian Rajasthani Lamb cooked in ginger garlic paste, yogurt and turmeric. The curry is infused afterwards by smoking it, giving it a deep and rich smokey flavor, something we've never tasted in a curry before. I HIGHLY recommend ordering this dish (along with the Butter Chicken) if you’re looking to blow your taste buds away, trust me! Their meat portions are also much bigger than the other Indian restaurants we've visited before, making it even greater.

Moshka is becoming quite the popular spot for evening dinners, and I recommend you make a reservation if you’re planning on going there anytime soon. I can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their tantalizing menu, and I hope to see you there, too!
