Safranbolu Turkish Restaurant 蕃紅花城土耳其餐廳 l Taipei

Taipei has really been spoiling us with the abundance of new and diverse restaurants and cafes opening up, taking our taste buds all over the world with some great foreign cuisine options, from Indian and Italian (see one of our favorite Italian spots here!) to Greek and Spanish, and also, Turkish. If you’re not yet familiar with Safranbolu in Taipei, keep reading and let us introduce you to this Turkish gem in Zhongshan District.
Conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from Songjiang Nangjing MRT Station and on the corner of Nanjing East Road, you will find Safranbolu in a two-storey building with a takeaway joint on the first floor and the restaurant on the second. The space is decorated in cream and red (just like the colors of the city Safranbolu in Turkey), and the walls and ceilings are covered in Turkish carpets and lanterns, and other interesting trinkets. Plenty of seating is available, and this a great spot for a meal with a group of friends. It would be lovely for a date night, too!
We popped in for lunch recently and tried their delicious (and affordable!) Lunch Set, which includes a starter, a LARGE main and also a drink. There are a few options to choose from in the set, but we opted for the Red Lentil Soup, Beef Kebab with Rice, Turkish Lemonade, and for dessert a Sugar Cookie topped with hazelnut (at 60nt extra). This entire set was only 299nt and is available daily between 11:30AM and 13:00PM. The menu includes a big variety of other tasty Turkish dishes, from appetizers such as Eggplant with Yogurt, to a range of meaty Kebabs including lamb, chicken and beef, and also, Turkish Pide, aka flatbread.

This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Taipei, and I highly recommend it! Considering the large portions and the quality of the food, it’s truly affordable compared to other restaurants in Taipei, and the Turkish owners go out of their way to make sure you're having an enjoyable dining experience.
