Salt Peanuts 鹹花生

Liesl and I ventured out to one of the most famous and oldest streets of Taipei recently, Dihua Street, to have a lil’ photo shoot with talented photographer, Mia of FlameBegins, to browse the cute shops, and to visit one of the unique and artistic cafes that are nestled away in the historic architecture of this traditional neighborhood.

Salt Peanuts 鹹花生

Salt Peanuts 鹹花生 is located on Dihua Street, in a renovated building that shares a beautiful tiled courtyard with another popular cafe, Peacock Bistro. Lured outside by the beautiful tiled floors, lush greenery, and wooden furniture, we made our way to one of the tables against the grey stone wall; a perfect backdrop for taking some beautiful foodie pictures. After braving the heat we decided to head inside and grabbed a table by the window of this retro styled cafe.

Their menu offers a range of unique coffees and teas, and they also have some delicious brunch options. It was an extremely hot day in Taipei, so I was craving something cold and fresh, so opted for an iced Roselle & Rose Tea, and Liesl and Mia both order iced Lattes. Along with the drinks, Liesl had the Nr.1 brunch, a delicious yogurt bowl made from homemade yogurt, jam, Taiwanese fruit, chia seeds and granola. I ordered the Nr.3 brunch, which was also a vegetarian option and included scrambled eggs, grilled veg, and a delicious cashew nuts spread (It must be some of the most flavorsome and tastiest scramble eggs I've had in my life!) Have a look at their menu and our food below.

If you’re in the Dadaocheng area to explore, make sure you stop by Salt Peanuts 鹹花生 for a healthy brunch before you start the day. Sit outside in the courtyard and experience the relaxing and quiet ambiance while enjoying a cold and refreshing drink on a hot summer's day.
