初訪 True from | Taipei Cafe

Another day, another beautiful cafe! Newbie coffee shop (and bar), 初訪 True from, only recently opened their doors in Songshan District, but is already a popular new must-visit spot in Taipei. Tieneke and I recently met up with some friends for an afternoon caffeine pick-me-up and to try out those cute cookies that's become one of their signature treats. First of all, we really liked the surrounding neighborhood, and it's also conveniently located close to Taipei Arena MRT station, but in a quiet and slow-paced alley.

The space is not huge, but offers plenty of seating options, and consists of three sections; there is a big table at the entrance, a few smaller seating areas towards the middle, and then a couple of tables way in the back, where you can have more privacy. The kitchen is open, and there is also some more bar seating available. We got a table in a cozy corner towards the back, from where we could admire the beautiful interior decorating and design elements (which is simple, elegant and inviting.)

初訪 True from offers plenty of drink options like coffees and teas, and also serve some savoury meals and delicious baked treats, like scones, cakes and cookies. Tieneke ordered a Brown Sugar Latte and I got the Honey Latte. Our friend Charlene (@taipeieater on Instagram) got one of the Flavored Bubble drinks, which was reminiscent of the drink "Orbitz" from our childhood, and the Lemon Pound Cake. We shared the desserts, and I must say that their popular cookie dipped in chocolate was my favorite. Our lattes were also top-shelf, and worth going there for. We had a lovely time at 初訪 True from and really appreciated the relaxing atmosphere and kind staff. You can truly sit back, take it easy, and enjoy their delicious drinks and desserts.
