Catching up while enjoying delicious lattes in a beautiful space is what Tieneke and I do almost every Saturday morning. We recently popped into Truffles Aroma 舒服気息 in Taipei's Daan District, knowing that this place checked both boxes. We definitely weren't disappointed, because this restaurant offers quite the visual experience with its beautifully designed and decorated interiors, and their lattes also totally hit the spot.
Firstly, I have to mention the absolutely stunning interiors and unique decorations; as you enter the restaurant, you are met with an array of antique furniture and vintage decorative pieces. All of the items are displayed in a two-storey building with floor to ceiling windows and a huge sunroof. I was surprised at how big the space is, with lots of comfortable seating on the first floor, and a few private dining rooms on the second floor. The vibe is very European, romantic and relaxing. I can imagine that this space would be lovely as a backdrop for a photo shoot, too!
We didn't have a reservation, but we had no trouble getting a table in the morning, and the staff were very professional and attentive. Even though they serve quite a few dishes like seafood, steaks and more, we were only interested in their desserts and lattes. We ordered two hot lattes, and one of their fine desserts to share. We were delighted with our dessert order, because it was absolutely adorable with an "under the sea" theme. I can only imagine the amount of intricate work and care that goes into making these desserts, and applaud their creativity. The dessert is beautifully plated, and every part of it is edible. We enjoyed the dessert and it complemented our delicious lattes perfectly.
If you like to take photos and appreciate a unique and gorgeous space, this is the place for you! We had a really good experience and got a kick out of the creative and yummy dessert. It is perfect for a late morning latte, an afternoon tea with the girls, or even a date night if you'd like to try their main dishes.
