Vast Cali Eatery, known for their nutritious California-style food (and also one of our absolute favorites cafes in Taipei), opened a new location in the hip Zhongshan district, right outside Zhongshan MRT Station. Located on the 7th floor of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department store, it’s quite easy to get there and the ideal spot to take a break and refresh in between an exciting day of shopping and exploring.
Unlike its flagship store in Daan District, VCE Qs is a fast casual eatery where shop-goers can enjoy freshly made and healthy “fast-food’ in a space where self-service is encouraged. The open kitchen gives customers the opportunity to see how their meals are prepared, and plenty of seating options are available, both inside and outside on their large terrace overlooking Taipei. The interior is quite unique and right on par with their approach to eating, with tons of lush greenery decorating the ceiling and wooden attributes.
Their menu is filled with a variety of nutritious and low-calorie California-style dishes, made from only the freshest ingredients and organic fruits and vegetables. Not quite as extensive as the original VCE menu, but just as packed with flavor and creativity, also including some of Vast Cali Eatery's most raved about dishes. I ordered the Pacific Bowl; a mix of blue spirulina, seasonal fruit, granola, honey and bee pollen, and I absolutely loved it! It’s packed with nutrition and was exactly what I was craving on a hot and humid day in Taipei. We also had a Chicken Meatloaf Sandwich which was honestly one of the tastiest and most flavorsome sandwiches we’ve ever had. I highly recommend it!

Liesl has also visited VCE Qs on a previous occasion and tried some of their other tasty treats. She had the vegetarian Shroom Burger, topped with avocado, sprouts, veggies, cheese, hummus and a mushroom patty, and also the Protein Set and some of their superfood smoothies.

If you’re planning to go to Zhongshan District anytime soon, pop into VCE Qs and go try one of their amazingly delicious and healthy "fast food" meals. We’ve frequented both locations a few times and have never left feeling unsatisfied, even having The Husband enjoying it, too!
