Jump(suit) for Joy

I have to confess, that I'm one of those people who will not hesitate to buy a few items of the same style of clothing if I really love it. And this summer, I went all out for jumpsuits. There's something just so effortless about them, as you get an all-in-one outfit; I literally don't have to think about putting an outfit together, I just "jump" into one, add a few accessories, and I'm out the door.
Not only are these super comfortable, somehow they also manage to be casual and elegant at the same time. This season, I gravitated towards the more daytime appropriate jumpsuits, something that I can easily throw on and have my outfit sorted for the day. (They definitely came in handy while we were traveling in the States, when I didn't necessarily have time to fuss over what to wear.)
Pictured above, is this lovely white linen jumpsuit I got from ASOS. I was drawn to the light and breathable fabric, interesting open back and wide-leg cut. It turned out to be such a good purchase, as it's a versatile jumpsuit that I can pair with many of my bags and sandals. Definitely a major win for my summer wardrobe! Initially I was nervous that the fabric would be too sheer, but I breathed a sigh of relief when I realized that no underwear shows through if you wear ones similar to your skin tone. Phew! (Good news, this exact style is also available in black and baby blue! Yasss! )

The next jumpsuit, and the one that kicked off my jumpsuit craze this season, is this playful blue striped cotton jumpsuit from ZARA. To be honest, I wasn't 100% sure about it at first, as I worried that the color, combined with the ruffles at the neckline, might be too juvenile. (Literally, in my mind's eye I could see myself wearing this exact jumpsuit at the age of 5, playing on the swings..) But alas, comfort overshadowed my doubts, and once I accessorized the look with some sunnies, a basket bag and my favorite gold watch and jewelry, I fell in love with it.

Tieneke jumped on the jumpsuit bandwagon as well, and decided on this gorgeous black FAITHFULL THE BRAND number. It "suits" her perfectly. (Oh, for the love of puns, Liesl!) Seriously, she looks absolutely stunning in it! This jumpsuit has a wide-leg cut, making it breathable and perfect for the hot and humid weather in Taipei. It also has an open back and beautiful plunging neckline, showing just the right amount of skin. A handy waist tie helps to accentuate your waistline, and ensure a flattering silhouette. It's truly an eye-catching jumpsuit, and one that can easily transition from daytime to evening wear. If you're not sold on wearing black in the summer though, you can also check out this style in a funky green striped print.

My most recent jumpsuit addition is this on-trend gingham print one from SHEIN. I stumbled across it online while browsing all things gingham (as one does...), and was drawn to it because of the flattering cut and, to be perfectly honest, how freakin' good it looked on the model. I wanted to BE her! Just kidding, but I immediately had visions of how I could wear it, and which accessories would go well with it. Also, the affordable price made the purchase a no-brainer.
