By now you guys probably know that we love to browse a good select shop, and we're lucky that Taipei has many! We recently visited one of the most popular ones, Everyday Ware & Co. They are located in the busy and crowded shopping neighborhood of Zhongshan MRT, but pleasantly hidden from the crowds on the second floor of the building, which feels like a sanctuary away from the bustling streets. To enter the shop, you must ring the doorbell downstairs of the residential-looking building, (it is clearly marked with the shop's name), and you'll have to walk up the staircase to the second floor after they buzz you in.
As you enter the shop, you are greeted with an aesthetically pleasing array of displays and items. I don't know about you, but when I first step into a select or vintage shop, I always have that feeling that I want to look at everything all at once, and sometimes feel completely overwhelmed. (I've learned to first make a lap of the store, and then go back to the displays I'm interested in, and take my time looking around). The open-plan space is beautiful, with gorgeous hardwood floors and big windows letting in natural light. The atmosphere in the shop is relaxed, and the staff are very friendly and approachable, but not at all overbearing. They offer a curated selection of unique home ware, vintage decorative pieces, fragrances, candles, glassware, textiles, camping gear, stationery, clothing, accessories and so much more.
We were pleasantly surprised to discover that they carry some brands that we already love, like Grown Alchemist and Maison Louis Marie. I had to suppress my urge to buy more candles (I really have a problem!), and also found myself lusting after the delicate glassware by TG, which is made in Taiwan. Their selection of beautiful kitchenware caught my attention, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about going back there to get some new plates and mugs. (Maybe a gift from Me to Me for Christmas?)
We highly recommend you to pop into Everyday Ware & Co. if you also enjoy a good select shop browse. You can shop online if you're not able to make it there, or aren't in the mood to brave the crowds. They obviously have great taste, and you're sure to find some lovely new items for your home. This is also a good store for some holiday (or birthday present) shopping if you're looking for unique and interesting gifts.
