Plain Stationery, Homeware & Cafe | Taipei

Stationery addicts beware, because you will not be able to resist this shop! I recently discovered Plain Stationery, Homeware & Cafe, a unique stationery store in Taipei, tucked away in a quiet alley right outside Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT station. (You make a right out of of exit 5, and the shop is literally only a few steps down the alley!). Not only do they sell interesting and imported stationery, they also have beautiful homeware, and an unexpectedly cozy cafe inside the shop.

The owner kindly chatted with me and showed me some of his favorite pieces in the shop, and told me that there are two locations of this store in Taipei; the original store is located close to Taipower MRT station. He says the original shop is much smaller and doesn't have a cafe, but that it's very quaint and filled to the brim with special products. Sir, you don't have to convince me, I'm already planning my visit there as we speak!

I really appreciated the relaxed atmosphere inside the store, and the soft music playing added to the ambiance. I also like that the staff are kind, friendly and approachable, and didn't hover while I was browsing the interesting displays. This store truly is like a treasure chest full of lovely pieces to discover; everywhere you look there are notebooks, pens and pencils, stamps, ink, books and stationery tools. I was like a kid in a candy store, and took my time looking at everything they have to offer.

One of my favorite items is the "Handy Stamp", which the owner said the staff had created at this store. You can see these stamps below! The cafe looked very inviting, and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of coffees, teas and desserts they serve. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to sit down and enjoy a pleasant afternoon cuppa, but I know I'll be back with some fellow stationery-loving friends and then we can fully enjoy the cozy cafe.

I highly recommend visiting Plain Stationery, Homeware & Cafe! I found the prices to be very reasonable, and even though I purchased a set of calligraphy pens, paper clips and other bits, I spent less that 300nt. It's a great place to find some unique stationery and tools, and also a good spot to buy gifts. The location is so convenient, you really have no excuse not to pop in and have a browse.
