Even though Tieneke and I aren't vegan or vegetarian, we actually find ourselves drawn to these restaurants and cafes in Taipei quite often. (I'm sure you've noticed this from all of our recent food adventures to healthy eateries?) We really don't have a shortage of healthy food options in the city, but there are some restaurants that stand out above the rest. MissGreen is one of those places. Located in Taipei's Daan District, is this popular vegan/vegetarian food heaven, which have actually fairly recently moved to this more spacious two-story location. It's also the restaurant I always recommend to my vegan and vegetarian friends.
The interior is quite bright and spacious, with plenty of tables on the first floor and also a bunch of seating options downstairs in the basement. True to their name, you can spot a lot of greenery everywhere, with leafy plants decorating the walls and floral wallpaper alongside the staircase. This time, we grabbed a table towards the back, where they have comfy booth-like seating with soft pillows.
MissGreen also have a little section by the entrance where they sell a few things like organic tea, pet food, tote bags, water bottles, soaps and other vegan-friendly products.
Now, let's get to the good stuff; the food and drinks! Below you can view their full menu, which offers a huge selection of delectable and flavorful vegan and vegetarian options; from pasta, risotto, burgers, paninis to curries, pizza and salad. For drinks, they offer smoothies, organic teas (inlcuding kombucha), beer, wine, juices and coffees.

Their menu can be somewhat overwhelming, as there are plenty of mouthwatering options to try, so this time Tieneke and I decided to order the 2-3 People Set Menu, so we could have an array of dishes to feast on. For this set, you can choose two dishes from a selection of risotto, pasta and burger options. The set also includes a salad and two drinks, and a vegan homemade dessert. All this for 1200nt, which I think is quite a good deal, because it is A LOT of food, and we couldn't even finish it all.
We decided on the Coconut Curry & Rice, and the Falafel Favorite Burger for our main meals. Along with our meals, I got an Organic Rooibos iced tea with it, and Tieneke opted for the iced White Coffee. For dessert, we were served a generous slice of homemade vegan cake. Even though the restaurant was quite busy, we were served quickly and our servers were very friendly and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes, and my personal favorite was the Falafel Favorite Burger, which was flavorful and fresh. The Coconut Curry was also a winner, and we both agreed that we'd order it again in the future.
We highly recommend MissGreen as a great option for vegan and vegetarian food in Taipei. Their food and service is of high quality, and the restaurant has a relaxing and laid-back atmosphere. You can make a reservation ahead of time, and even have events there, as there are big tables downstairs that would be perfect for a private function.
