Calling all fellow succulent lovers in Taipei; tucked away on a quiet alley in Daan District, is our mothership! We discovered this little succulent shop on Instagram and decided to go sneak a peek this past weekend. We were not disappointed, as the space is absolutely beautiful, and filled to the brim with a huge variety of succulents, hand-made plant holders and other gifts. Every surface is covered in cacti, and it is the perfect shop to go and browse for unique plants and one-of-a-kind plant holders.
The outdoor section out front is quite impressive, and there must be hundreds of succulents, of multiple varieties, on display. When you step inside, the selection of succulents continues. You will also see lots of hand-made pots and other gifts. Inside the store is a coffee shop, COFFEE SIND (which I'll tell you more about in a bit), a big table where you can take creative classes, and a cozy corner where you can enjoy your coffee and dessert, or work on your laptop.
Browse, admire and shop!
This is the type of shop where you can easily get lost in time and spend an entire afternoon browsing. Every corner offers something different and unique, and you really feel like you can take your time to admire everything. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and don't mind answering your succulent-related questions. At the moment, the shop is celebrating their 2-year anniversary, so you can also win a small gift by participating in an activity where you have to collect four specific stamps throughout the shop. It's a cute idea, and we enjoyed hunting for the stamps.
Join a creative class!
As I mentioned before, you can take classes at this shop, too. It just so happened that there was a group busy making plant-holders while we were there, and it looked very interesting and laid-back. I actually thought to myself that it could be a unique activity for a group of friends to do together. The instructor told me that she allows up to ten people per class, and that you can sign up for many different types of lessons on their website. From wreath-making (perfect for the holiday season!), painting of holiday cards, to embroidery and many more. Grab a coffee and dessert from COFFEE SIND
Adding to the relaxing atmosphere of this place, is the fact that they have a coffee shop in there, too! COFFEE SIND offers an impressive selection of drip coffees, teas and even a few dessert options. Of course we ordered some drinks and sweet treats to enjoy while sitting and chatting on the comfy couches. We were feeling quite peckish, so we ordered three desserts to share; lemon tart, matcha cake and caramel apple tart. The barista recommended the Chikan Black Sugar Latte, which Tieneke ordered, and I got a hot Coffee Latte. He was also kind enough to bring over Piccolo for us to try. Each drink was creatively decorated with succulents, which added such a cute touch. We enjoyed everything we ordered, and I had a hard time sharing the desserts, because it was just so delicious. As you can see, 有肉 SUCCULAND Succulent & Gift is more of an experience than just a store; go to browse and admire the huge selection of succulents, add a few cacti to your collection, purchase a unique hand-made gift, take a creative class, or kick back with a tasty treat and coffee and just enjoy the surroundings and the calmness of the space. Afterwards, head on over to the TOWN CRIER, another interesting lifestyle store we can highly recommend (and it's just down the street!).
