On our latest brunchventure, we headed to this new (and foxy!) spot in town, hidden between the busy streets of Taipei. The space is a breath of fresh air among the other buildings in the neighborhood, with its crisp and clean exterior, and its colorful and "summery" wall, perfect for taking that 'doughnut-latte' selfie (I'll tell you more about that later!)
Tamed Fox is a new cafe that’s only been open for a few months, located in Daan District, and offers a range of fresh and healthy dishes, from yogurt bowls, to carrot cake doughnuts (yes, CARROT CAKE DOUGHNUTS!). Before I get too excited, let me first stop drooling and tell you more about their gorgeous interior, which reminds me a lot of the sleek and harmonious style of Dutch homes. It’s light and bright with a relaxing and cool atmosphere, and has modern wood furniture that adds to their stylish design. Well, let’s get down to business, 'cause I can’t wait to tell you more about the FOOD!
I guess you’re probably getting excited about those doughnuts, but, I'm not there just yet. Liesl and I first had to do the mature thing and eat a fresh and healthy breakfast, before stuffing our faces with sugary, frosted dessert. I had the Avocado Edamame Hummus With Poached Egg sandwich (yum!), and Liesl got the Greek Yogurt Power Bowl (which by the way, does not come in a bowl if you order the small size, but in a tiny glass. Take note!) Both our dishes were DElicious, and we finished it off with a Greek Yogurt Fruit Smoothie (made from dragon fruit and strawberries) and a Matcha Maca Latte, which both complemented the dishes beautifully.
After finishing our delicious and healthy breakfasts, we finally ordered the oh-so-famous ‘doughnut latte’. No, it's not a doughnut flavored latte, it's literally a doughnut on a latte! They have a range of doughnuts and frosting to choose from (on availability), and luckily the one I've been lusting after was available on that day; the carrot cake doughnut with pink dragon fruit frosting. We got the doughnuts and lattes to go, and enjoyed them outside on their beautiful patio. Well, scroll down and let me show you what a doughnut latte is!
