After months of drooling over pictures of this cafe’s food on Instagram, we finally had the opportunity to go there and it did NOT disappoint! I mean, avocado breakfasts, outdoor seating AND an "Instagrammable" wall, what’s not to love?!
The Antipodean is an Australian-inspired, third wave coffee shop located in Neihu district, whose owner grew up in Australia and only moved to Taiwan about 2 years ago. Their brunch selection is (literally!) what avocado dreams are made of, and includes the Avocado Big Breakfast (vegetarian), a smoked salmon and avocado bagel, and an avocado baked egg. They also serve a traditional Australian breakfast and acai and smoothie bowls. If you’re not in the mood for breakfast, you could opt for one of their delicious paninis, desserts, or satisfy your caffeine craving with one of their speciality coffees.
The owner and staff of The Antipodean made us feel right at home from the minute we walked in, and served us with warm and friendly smiles. If you are as much of an avo addict as I am, or just enjoy sitting outdoors and having a delicious, healthy breakfast, this is the perfect place for you. Afterwards you can take advantage of their beautiful wall (Instagram backdrop!), covered in blue geometric print and a giant kangaroo, for taking a one of a kind, Aussie-inspired photo.
